Let me introduce myself. My name is Yurika Murakami. I am a recent graduate of the Academy of Massage and Orthotherapy and now offer professional orthotherapeutic massage treatments. For those of you that are new to orthotherapy, here are some of its basic principles and a few links that you can browse if you wish to further your understanding.

What is orthotherapy?
Dating all the way back to ancient Greece, orthotherapy has enjoyed a renewed popularity ever since the 1970s. A holistic treatment that aims at relieving muscle pains and stiff joints, orthotherapy is derived from the Greek word 'ortho' meaning 'whole' and is meant to increase the flexibility of the affected muscles and restore their complete range of motion. A specialized profession in the field of kinesitherapy, orthotherapy attempts to understand the root causes of joint or muscle disorders through a complete and thorough understanding of the body's muscular-skeletal system. Because of its holistic approach, orthotherapy requires an extensive training in anatomy and physiology.
